eInstruction, a premier global provider of learning technology, announced today three grand prize winners of its fifth annual Classroom Makeover Video Contest. The winners, representing the top video submissions from more than 250 entries from around the world, were selected by a guest judging panel and nearly 50,000 votes submitted by the general public on the contest website, http://www.2011classroommakeover.com.
The three classroom makeover prize packages are valued between $ 29,467 and $ 79,812 each, and include educational technology from eInstruction, American Education Corporation, Dell, Evan-Moor, FableVision, Hewlett-Packard, Ignite! Learning, Incredible Kid, Math Forum @ Drexel, Monarch Teaching Technologies, Nectar Foundation, netTrekker Search, School Specialty, StarrMatica and Study Island. In addition to the classroom technology, winners will receive a $ 500 cash prize for hosting a celebratory party for the entire school.

It was exciting to find out that our video was selected among many applicants as finalist. But to win is just unbelievable, said Lynn Martinez. We could not have done it without everyone’s support. We had the entire Los Fresnos CISD family behind us throughout the making of the video, and I can’t thank them enough!
Grades 68 Winner: Joseph Groppes Class from Crews Lake Middle School in Spring Hill, FL. Their video, Extreme Classroom Makeover, can be viewed here.
On behalf of my talented, diligent students, I would like to thank eInstruction and all other affiliated companies for creating such a wonderful program, said Joseph Groppe, technology specialist that led the students in this project. In order to create this video, these students collectively agreed upon the concepts, the content and the digital effects, resulting in a video submission were very proud of, which helped us win amazing educational products.

Teach Me How to Study was a collaborative effort among the drama class, the Computer class and the Lawrence County High School faculty, said Gina McCarley, the teacher who oversaw the video creation. Everyone involved had so much fun creating the contest video. We are so thankful for the opportunity to participate and look forward to using the eInstruction tools.
